Norfolk falconry are willing to bring birds of prey to your cub / scout group, giving young people the chance to meet and hold various birds of prey. Beetley cubs were the first cub group to experience Norfolk falconry, with a group of about 30 cubs who met a Barn owl, Kestrel, ( Indian eagle owl which flew under control over their heads ) snowy owl and a Harris hawk, with the exciting opportunity to hold each bird ( except the snowy owl ) on a gloved hand, bringing education, discipline, respect and fun together for the evening. The evening continued with a photo of each cub ( and leader ) printed off there and then for the cubs to take home and cherish ( an additional cost of £1 per cub for a photo ) with the memory stick being wiped at the end of the evening ( the photos can be transferred to a leaders disc but Norfolk falconry do not keep any cubs photos, though parents are welcome to send us a copy if they wish, for us to use on the Norfolk falconry website ). You are more than welcome to contact Ian Cottingham ( Akela ) for references. The bird of prey evening is priced at £100 plus a nominal fee for petrol, depending on where you are based. The photos are an additional £1 per cub, during which time you may also take your own photos.
